Making the animation for Shimmer and Disappear by Pram
I was very chuffed when Pram asked me to make an animation for a track from their new LP Across the Meridian. I took some pictures while making, so here they are below…
The whole process from a-z was great fun, even when everything fell over :), and it’s a brilliant track too.
Pram’s new album is out on Domino Records on 20th July and available for pre-order here
Shimmer and Disappear by Pram
I had a blast making this animation for Shimmer and Disappear from Pram’s upcoming LP Across the Meridian š Will post “making of” pics soon.
Bishopsteignton Primary School Comics Club – New Term!
I’ve got fourteen keen-as-mustard comic artists this term, and they are already coming up with some wonderful ideas, including a graphic novel and a very exciting joint project featuring a story told from three different points of view. This is a degree of sophistication I came across in works of authors and filmmakers only when I went to university, so I was a bit blown away when they announced what they were going to do. In fairness all three are super-creative, bright kids – am very excited to see how this works out.
Crazy Conductors and Interactive Orchestras
This was a lot of fun – a projection/animation/digital music drop-in workshop for Daisi’s “Machina” project at the Phoenix in Exeter. Participants made a cutout musician character, attached it to the projected background and then, using Bare Conductive technology, gave it a sound – which could be played just by touching the character (gasp!)
It worked brilliantly as a fully interactive workshop, and musician Rachel Thame and I are definitely going to roll this out more widely. Get in touch for more information. š
Prop making for Alice in Wonderland
No Animation Club tonight!
Animation Club – 2
Some mini-films the kids made at last night’s animation club, using all their own characters and backgrounds. Animation is so good for unlocking children’s imaginations. We use Stop Motion Studio Pro on my iPad mini – it’s a brilliant free resource. We’ll be adding sound next week (all in the app) š Smart!
