Making the animation for Shimmer and Disappear by Pram

I was very chuffed when Pram asked me to make an animation for a track from their new LP Across the Meridian. I took some pictures while making, so here they are below… The whole process from a-z was great fun, even when everything fell over :), and it’s a brilliant track too. Pram’s newContinue reading “Making the animation for Shimmer and Disappear by Pram”

Bishopsteignton Primary School Comics Club – New Term!

I’ve got fourteen keen-as-mustard comic artists this term, and they are already coming up with some wonderful ideas, including a graphic novel and a very exciting joint project featuring a story told from three different points of view. This is a degree of sophistication I came across in works of authors and filmmakers only whenContinue reading “Bishopsteignton Primary School Comics Club – New Term!”

Crazy Conductors and Interactive Orchestras

This was a lot of fun – a projection/animation/digital music drop-in workshop for Daisi’s “Machina” project at the Phoenix in Exeter. ItContinue reading “Crazy Conductors and Interactive Orchestras”

Prop making for Alice in Wonderland

The guys have been very busy making all kinds of props for their production of Alice in Wonderland recently. They really are lovely and I think it’s going to look very special when they perform on May 17th in Honiton. Here are a few of the puppets and masks we made last week…

St Leonard’s Surgery – Wellbeing Project

Yesterday saw the first of two sessions I’m leading at the surgery, as part of a project with Magic Carpet. It was a lot of fun, with much chatting and laughter as well as some very lovely monoprints  being made by all the participants, (and some rather hilarious caricatures of me and Amelia by Fran):

Animation Club – 2

Some mini-films the kids made at last night’s animation club, using all their own characters and backgrounds. Animation is so good for unlocking children’s imaginations. We use Stop Motion Studio Pro on my iPad mini – it’s a brilliant free resource. We’ll be adding sound next week (all in the app) 🙂 Smart!

Animation Club at Teignmouth Library

After a jam-packed session at TAAG on Tuesday, next on the bill is Animation Club at Teignmouth Library, kicking off next Monday from 4-5pm. See below for more details 🙂   Our theme will be Mythical Creatures (aka monsters!) and the kids will get to create and animate their own special mythical creature, making upContinue reading “Animation Club at Teignmouth Library”
