On this page you’ll find animations facilitated by Small World over the past few years. Featured here are films created during projects for CBSO (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra), Bright Space/Creative Partnerships and Acorns Children’s Hospices and Misfits Theatre Company.

The Misfits and I are delighted that “Tales from the Funkadelic Ferret”  is being screened at the Oska Brite festival in Brighton this month. Here it is in case you didn’t catch it last year..

This year’s offering from the very talented children of Shambala

During the summer of 2012 I made a great animation with a super keen 8 year old who has since gone on to make his own films! It’s called “The Mean Brain”

The latest brilliant offering from the animation whizzes at Acorns Children’s Hospice in Selly Oak, Birmingham!! It was all made (including figures and background) and filmed over two afternoons in October – thanks to all the children involved and the brilliant contribution of staff and volunteer helpers! The project was funded by Starlight children’s charity, go to www.starlight.org.uk for more information about their great work with seriously and terminally-ill children.

A story-telling project at Upton upon Severn primary school with a class of very lively (and creative!) Year Ones. What will happen when three boats full of very unusual characters sail down the River Severn each heading for a different destination? Will the Man, the Elf and the Dinosaur be able to save the day?

The polar icecaps are melting and a little Polar Bear is lost and lonely. Can he find new friends and a better life somewhere new? Tune in and find out in this short animation by Years 2&3 of Holy Redeemer School, Pershore as part of a Bright Space project in 2010

A bunch of talented jungle animals rock out to Hank Mizell’s classic 50’s number, “Jungle Rock”!! A short music video animation made with with life-limited children receiving respite care at Acorns Children’s Hospice, Selly Oak, Birmingham (2009).

A crew of intrepid Space Jellybabies set out to explore new worlds and seek out new civilizations, and boldly go where no jellybaby has gone before! Created as part of a City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra educational project based on the Planets Suite by Holst, this film was made by Year 5 pupils of Rookery School, Handsworth in 2009
